Taggbox now lets you request usage rights for several posts from the same creator in a single request, instead of repeating the process post by post.
If you run hashtag campaigns, you know the situation. One creator posts eleven photos over a festival weekend, and every one of them would work in a paid social ad. Until now, clearing those photos meant opening eleven separate rights requests, writing eleven nearly identical messages, and tracking eleven approvals.
Now it is one request for all eleven.
What is new
Rights requests used to work one post at a time. The Content Gallery with content moderation now supports multi-select, so you can batch them:
- In the Content Gallery post grid, tick the checkbox on two or more eligible posts.
- A dark action toolbar appears with Public, Private, Delete, and Get Rights.
- Click Get Rights. The request wizard opens with all the selected posts already loaded.
Single-post requests still work exactly as before. Every eligible post card keeps the small “person with checkmark” icon in its icon row, and clicking it opens the same wizard for that one post.
How to raise a bulk rights request
The wizard has five screens. Most of your work happens on the second one.
Step 1: Select the request mode
Bulk requests use DM Requests, described in-product as sending the request directly to the creator.
One thing to watch: the option can look pre-selected when it is not. You have to click it. If you click Next without clicking the option first, you will see the error “Please select the mode for Right Request.”
Step 2: Build the message
Here you set up what the creator actually receives:
- Choose a message template (start with Default Template 1, or create your own).
- Edit the Custom Message text. This field is required.
- Upload your brand logo (optional, but it makes the request look legitimate to the creator).
- Attach your Terms and Conditions. A default document is already attached, and a “Use our predefined content” link is available if you do not want to write your own.
- Tick the “Accept our Terms and Conditions” checkbox. The wizard will not let you continue without it.
Step 3: Connect the sending account
Click Add Account and authorize the account through OAuth. This is the account the request will be sent from, and it is required. Skipping it returns “Please connect account.”
Step 4: Preview the request
The final message appears as read-only text under the heading “Your UGC Request is Ready,” along with the steps to follow next.
Step 5: Raise the request
Clicking Raise Request does three things at once:
- Marks every selected post in your gallery with a Pending status badge.
- Generates a unique tracking link that stays valid for 30 days.
- Opens the creator’s original post in a new browser tab.
Clicking the Pending badge later reopens a summary screen with the post and a 30-day countdown ring, so you can always see how much time is left on a request.
Which posts are eligible
Three rules decide whether a post can be included. The first one is the one most people run into.
Rule 1: All posts must belong to the same creator
Bulk requests work only when every selected post comes from the same social profile.
If you select posts from two different creators, Taggbox blocks the action completely with a popup: “To send UGC Rights request in bulk, make sure you choose posts from a single user.” The popup shows a green check for two posts from one user and a red X for two posts from two users.
The source feed does not matter. You can mix posts from a hashtag feed and a mentions feed in the same request, as long as the same person posted them.
Rule 2: Every post needs an image or video
Text-only posts are not eligible and do not show the Get Rights icon at all.
If you include a text-only post in a multi-select, the bulk Get Rights button disappears from the toolbar without any error message. The missing button is the only signal, which is why this one causes confusion.
Rule 3: Posts must come from a live social feed
Manually uploaded posts, and posts with no connected live social profile, do not show the Get Rights icon and cannot be selected.
Which networks support rights requests
| Network | Eligible feeds | Bulk request | Single-post request modes |
|---|
| Facebook | Hashtags, Mentions | DM Request | DM Request |
| Instagram | Hashtags, Mentions | DM Request | DM Request, Comment Request |
| X (Twitter) | Hashtags, Mentions | DM Request | DM Request |
| TikTok | Hashtags | See note below | Comment Request |
Note on TikTok: Single-post TikTok requests support Comment Request only, while bulk requests currently run through DM Request. Check the current behavior in-product before confirming TikTok bulk support for a customer.
What Taggbox handles, and what you do yourself
This part matters for setting expectations, so we will be direct about it.
Taggbox handle: The request itself, your branded message, the attached Terms and Conditions, the approval page the creator sees, the trackable link with its 30-day validity, the pending status on your posts, and the record of the creator’s decision.
You handle one step: After you click Raise Request, the creator’s original post opens in a new tab. You paste the generated link there as a public comment or send it to the creator directly. The creator clicks the link, reads the terms, and approves or denies. Your gallery status updates from there.
In other words, this process is a semi-automated workflow. Taggbox does not send the message through a network’s messaging API for you. Everything around the request is built and tracked automatically, and the delivery is a copy and paste.
Who this helps most
Hashtag campaign teams. A single enthusiastic participant can produce a dozen usable assets in one weekend. Batch them into one request instead of a dozen.
Brands with steady organic mentions. When the same creators tag you repeatedly, one request per creator is far less work than one request per post.
Paid social teams. Documented, timestamped permission with terms attached is what makes UGC safe to run behind ad spend.
If bulk requests are not working
Nearly every report of “bulk rights requests are broken” comes down to one of two causes:
- The selected posts belong to more than one creator. You will see the blocking popup.
- One selected post is text-only or was manually uploaded. The bulk Get Rights button silently disappears.
Check both before escalating.
